Founder of Strategic Wealth Advisors LLC., Mr. Hanseen is a Registered Investment Advisor and Personal Financial Specialist. The firm was formed in February 2000 to provide client-focused, fee-based financial planning and investment advisor services. Since its founding, SWA has developed a growing base of high-net worth clients.
Prior to SWA, Mr. Hanseen has been practicing as a Certified Public Accountant since 1977, holding positions with public accounting firms in Salt Lake City, Seattle, and Las Vegas. He has also served as Controller in the gaming industry, during which he was part of a team that developed the first master limited partnership underwritten by Merrill Lynch. The finance team raised approximately $500 million. In addition, Mr. Hanseen was a partner in the firm Hanseen and Watts, the managing partner in the Las Vegas office of Draper Smart Hanseen & Associates and business manager/financial officer with Weddle Caldwell Advertising. His history as a CPA has enabled him to serve clients in the financial planning and investment advisory field with the same integrity and objectivity attributed to the CPA profession.
Mr. Hanseen's many professional memberships and associations include the Financial Planning Association, American Institution of Certified Public Accountants, Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants (past president), the Utah Society of Certified Public Accountants, Las Vegas Rotary(Past Treasurer ), Treasurer of Communities in Schools of Las Vegas, Nevada Development Authority, Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce/Business Council circle of excellence award recipient, Bishop Gorman High School (past board member) and the University of Utah alumni (past president).
